Global Vistas is a group of authors and public servants. Most of us have known and worked with each other for much of our considerable lives. We clicked. Now we have more time than ever before to do important projects. We are not as fast as we once were, and most of us know we are at the falling-apart stage of life. But we're still kicking up some dust. We also have a blog. We encourage you to explore this site and our blog. Participate. Propose an entry. Enter a comment. Let us share the exploration of truth. We want to bring to you what we have learned, and be more public about what we know. We will present our written work, published and heretofore unpublished. We are spirited speakers and would like to talk with you and your groups. We have our individual priorities of focus on the issues of the day. Each of us provides support to all the others. Sometimes we speak as a tag team. You will find us concerned with law, justice, health, money, mercy and faith. So click the speakers button if you want to book one or more of us. We are also social entrepreneurs. We use our business knowledge for progressive purposes. We will use this site to provide you with newsletters and a blog in the areas of our expertise. We will present our experience and discuss public policy. We are now more about policy than science, but science informs positions. James Broadnax is the technology leader of the group and his work is helpful to those of us who are less experienced in information technology. He will have an occasional newsletter and a blog posting monthly. He and Dr. Mason have an internet marketing solution to provide a new stream of revenue for towns, cities and schools. They will share that with you in newsletters and on this site. Fred Fleron has been an educator and research scholar for more than 40 years. His special focus is Russia, political economy, and technology, but his research and writings have also engaged a variety of other subjects. He is the author of eight books and numerous articles in academic journals and journals of public opinion. Dr. Fleron will be writing about a variety of subjects including: political change, building democracies, political leadership & elites, bureaucracy, political culture, politics & society, American foreign policy, political economy, and politics & technology, especially the domestic and international transfer of technology. Gene Mason acts as the publisher for Global Vistas. He will also write about justice, social entrepreneurship, internet marketing, addictions and recovering from them. He has experiences he wants to share in all of those areas. If you do not find this site and the accompanying blog to your liking, blast him.
Michael Parenti has been on a long-term serious mission. Cornel West described him as "a towering prophetic voice in American life. We need him now more than ever.” Dr. Parenti wrote, “Here at home and throughout the world people are fighting back against the forces of wealth, privilege, and militarism — some because they have no choice, others because they would choose no other course but the one that leads to peace and justice." Jonathan Weisbuch is a medical doctor, a professor, a senior-level governement administrator and a writer. His career includes such diverse positions as: Medical Director, Corrections Department, Commonwealth of Massachusetts; the State Health Officer in North Dakota and the State Director of Health and Social Services in Wyoming; Medical Director, County of Los Angeles and Maricopa County in Arizona. He is presently teaching in the Medical School at Arizona State University and writing for this site. John Wong left a public housing slum in China as young boy to come to the US. He arrived here, speaking no English, and not having seen his father in seven years. He thrived in America. Working in a laundry as a teenager he read one book a day and developed a thirst for knowledge. This led him to become a Harvard undergraduate and an MIT Ph.D. in economics. He has devoted his life to his friends and family and the most disadvantaged members of our society. He will share his creative mind with you. | |
